If we’re going to fulfil God’s will for our lives, at some point we’ll need to do these things: 1) Move to a higher level of faith (see Romans 1:17). David had to face a lion and a bear before he faced Goliath. Each took more faith than the last. And we’ll also face issues that’ll need greater trust in God than we’ve had before. 2) Seek God’s guidance about each situation that arises (see Proverbs 3:6). His promise is: ‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye’ (Psalm 32:8 NKJV). 3) Realise God’s will for your life. God doesn’t play hide-and-seek with His will. It’s only as we spend time with Him that we discover it (see Psalm 143:10). And when we do that, we begin to thrive and grow into our calling. 4) Fight using God’s Word. The God-breathed words found in Scripture are our strength in times of difficulty and testing. Jesus used Scripture to make Satan back off and leave Him (see Matthew 4), and the weapon of God’s Word still works today. 5) Don’t get too caught up in self-analysis. Self-reflection is a good thing to do, but it’s important that we don’t spend too much time looking inwards and striving for perfection before we make a move. Only the Holy Spirit has the ability to search and know our hearts and minds (see John 16:8-15). And when God is ready to reveal areas to us that need correction, He will. Until then, keep moving forwards in faith and trust. 6) Guard your mind. Make it a walled city that refuses to let in negative thoughts and harmful influences (see Proverbs 4:23).
